Chanco Parish Representative   (CPR) Job Responsibilities:

·         Make no mistake about the name of your job—CPR.  Your help will “breathe the spirit” into our youngsters to participate in Camp Chanco.  Your task is to spread the word of Chanco’s camp programs and thus cause more youth to become campers in our residential sessions and out trips.  The Board of Directors believes that this effort is needed to heighten the awareness of our treasure on the James.  Thank you, in advance, for your time, dedication, and effort!  Chanco could not exist without people like you!  With gratitude to those who are willing to serve, the Board has approved a $200 Camp discount for you to use for your child or to give to another.

·         You will be responsible for contacting your parish priest or other staff member and scheduling a Chanco Open House.  Ideally, this Open House will be held during the Sunday School hour to achieve maximum attendance and should be held sometime between January 15 and March 31st (later than this and many families have already made their summer plans).

·         Prior to the Open House, you need to advertise your Camp Open House via your bulletin inserts, parish newsletter, and announcements.  Talk with your rector to determine if there are any discretionary funds available to “raffle” money toward a tuition at your open house.  If you are able to secure this, advertise that this will be offered.

·         At the Chanco Open house you will give a brief summary of what Camp Chanco offers and how it has affected your life.  Feel free to enlist young or teenaged campers to share their experiences as well!  You will show the DVD summarizing camp and the Summer 2007 DVD of pictures from last summer.  You will hand out the 2008 Chanco brochures and highlight the Open House at Chanco on April 27th and Family Camp in August as introductory camp experiences.  You will hand out the Parent Encouragement Program flyer and discuss the discounts available. You will share the quotes of previous campers as testimony to Chanco’s success.  You will answer any questions.

·         After the Open House, you should follow up with any interested persons who may have questions about camp.  Your Board Member representative will get you announcements/reminders of camp events for you to follow up with for insertion in parish bulletins and newsletters periodically throughout the year.
